This year's CES was about taking already great products to the next level of performance by refining and beefing up the technologies that drive them. 4K TVs have more and better color, wearables have more sensors and headphones and speakers pump out stronger sound without wires. Of course, any company can add the latest chip to a product, but our Top Pick Award winners use cutting-edge tech to make our lives easier, healthier, safer and more entertaining.
A 2-in-1 hybrid thinner than the MacBook Air, and an ultraportable that shoehorns a 13-inch screen into an 11-inch chassis are some of the best computers of CES.
It's a shame the word "cameraphone" means simply any camera on any phone. Otherwise it would be the best word for Panasonic's new Lumix DMC-CM1: a full-fledged, 20-megapixel camera and an Android (4.4 KitKat) smartphone in one device that's slim enough for a back pocket. Photos we took with the camera's giant (for a smartphone) 1-inch CMOS sensor are more detailed, and less troubled by graininess, than the iPhone 6/6 Plus, Sony Xperia Z3 and Samsung Galaxy S5.
