| | Your child wants a tablet, but you're not exactly comfortable handing over the family iPad Air to a 4 year old. Who knows how large of an iTunes bill Junior could run up when you're not watching. And what sort of inappropriate material might your kid uncover? There's no need to worry. A whole subcategory of kid-friendly tablets has emerged that address these and other issues. Generally speaking, a kid-friendly tablet comes with age-appropriate and educational apps preloaded, a camera and helpful parental controls. Most even come with an easy-to-grip frame. But that doesn't mean that all kid tablets are created equal. We've carefully tested and played with a wide variety of these slates to help you decide what to buy and avoid. | | | |

| | | | | | | The age of flexible smartphones is officially upon us, and LG's 6-inch G Flex is one of the first out of the gate. With a unique curved design, the Flex can, well, flex until it's almost completely flat. It's also the first handset to offer a "self-healing" rear panel that can repair itself when scratched. Though not yet available in the U.S., LG hopes to bring the Flex to our shores relatively soon. The G Flex also packs a fast Snapdragon 800 processor, new multitasking features and a 13-MP camera. If you're interested in what the future of smartphones has to offer, the G Flex is an exciting example. | | | | | | | ASUS is going luxe. The new Zenbook UX301 ditches the company's tired spun-aluminum frame for a Gorilla Glass lid, creating some scratch-resistant eye candy. Sporting a very sharp, 13.3-inch, 2560 x 1440-pixel touch screen display, this ultraportable is more than a great looking laptop. The UX310 (starting at $1,722, or $1,973 as configured) packs an Intel Core i7 CPU with Intel Iris graphics and fast dual-128GB SSDs, but is this the new Ultrabook to beat? | | | | | | |
