Apple iPhone 5s: Full Review

Apple is giving Android the finger with the iPhone 5s. And we're not just talking about the fingerprint sensor beneath the screen. The new A7 chip inside this unassuming beast promises to run circles around the Galaxy S4 and other devices. Apple's sequel ($199 for 16GB) also features a beefed up camera with larger pixels as well as a new dual flash system. Then there's iOS 7, which sports a colorful yet clean new design that looks like an antidote to cluttered Android skins. At a time big-screen flagships are all the rage, though, should you give this compact powerhouse a chance?

Apple's iPhone just got a splash of color. While it has the same internal components as last year's iPhone 5, the new iPhone 5c comes wrapped in a brightly colored plastic shell. Overall, the iPhone 5c is easily one of the top smartphones selling for less than $100.

LG G2 (T-Mobile) Reviewed

Business in the front, party in the back. That could be the LG G2's catchphrase, because all of this Android phone's physical buttons are on its back. That isn't the only way this flagship ($99 down, $21 per month on T-Mobile) seeks stands out from the Galaxy S4 and HTC One. A very fast Snapdragon 800 processor -- a first for U.S. phones -- enables all sorts of multitasking goodness. Add in a 13-MP camera with optical image stabilization and the G2 should win over plenty of shoppers, or at least those willing to experiment with a new design.

iOS 7 Reviewed: Better Than Android?

Colorful, stark and tres minimaliste, Apple's iOS 7 represents an extreme makeover for a mobile platform that has sported the same look since President George Bush was in office and Hannah Montana was in season one. That was 2007, when Steve Jobs introduced the world to the original iPhone. Over the years Apple has added many features to its software, but the overall aesthetic and navigation has largely remained the same. That all changes with iOS 7, which boasts an all-new design and welcome new features such as Control Center and improved multitasking. Has Apple gone far enough to narrow the user experience gap with Android, or has it gone too far?

LG G2 Reviewed (AT&T)

Talk about a risky move. In an effort to escape Samsung's shadow, LG has changed the way smartphones are designed. With its new G2, LG put the power button and volume controls on the back of the handset. The G2 ($199 for AT&T) is also the first U.S. device to sport Qualcomm's superfast Snapdragon 800 processor -- which enables some pretty nifty multitasking -- and this flagship comes with a 13-MP camera with optical image stabilization. Is all of this enough to steal shoppers away from the Galaxy S4 or HTC One?

Apple iPhone 5s vs Samsung Galaxy S4: What Should You Buy?

During the launch event for the iPhone 5s, Apple CEO Tim Cook told the crowd that "we don't pack in feature after feature." That was obviously a dig at Samsung, whose Galaxy S4 will be compete head to head starting Sept. 20. Not sure which smartphone to buy? We're here to help.

The iPhone 5s is all about enhancing an already great phone, from a faster A7 processor and beefed-up camera to a new fingerprint sensor. Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker Reviewed

Portable Bluetooth speakers now have a host of features, from apps to speakerphones -- and some are even waterproof. Ultimately, though, the speakers have to sound good. The $199 Bose SoundLink Mini forgoes all of these niceties, instead focusing solely on making this device stand out in the audio department. That's why this speaker rises above everything else. It's our Editors' Choice.

Dell Inspiron 14R (2013) Reviewed

Targeting students and mainstream consumers, Dell's Inspiron 14R has all the right ingredients for a satisfying Windows 8 laptop. There's a 14-inch touch screen for taking advantage of Microsoft's Live Tile interface -- along with a growing number of apps --plus a fourth-gen Intel Core i3 processor that promises extra-long battery life.
